INTERVIEW TAKEAWAYS

-Lack Of Inclusivity

Many swimmers at the  Pool were older talked to me about their younger days but due to old injuries certain movements are difficult to do (rotator cuffs). They explained most mobile apps are designated To a much younger crowd with no injuries or doesn’t teach or tell athletes about the dangers  of injuries.

-Cost of App

Many swimmers have seen Swim Pro a subscription based app thats costly and only cater to those in competitive swimming runs about $30 / Year.

-Simplicity

Something that doesn’t have to beExplained and is easy to navigate and use daily.

-Adaptation

“ Many already apps have just workouts for the water that just time your swims but doesn’t grow with you its a fancy app with a stop watch “ - Nick (Swim Coach )

-Swimmer’s Community

An app for swimmers actual swimmers a Master swimmer during our interview said He loves getting feed back from others and Knowing where to go swim what pools his friends are going to workout at and even just chatting with others that share the same hobbies.

-Offline / Online

All the swimmers agreed they come to swim to let go of distractions while some have smart watches and other use their phones on the deck, some swimmers also would love an offline version that doesn’t need wifi or connection to the internet.

Key Features

While designing SwimBlock an important feature that came up over and over was inclusivity,
swimmers come in various shapes. This Augmented Reality (A.R) feature is to help swimmers to prevent injuries in the water as well as help those with limited mobility or physical disabilities get in the water and swim using modified swim workouts.

The Watch

Swimmers are able to continue their workouts in the water connecting their mobile devices to an IOS smart watch keeping swimmers without distractions.
