826 National → Branding, Print

826 National is a nonprofit organization which has writing and tutoring centers for students ages 6-18. Known for their bizarre storefronts throughout the country, I was tasked with branding a fictional 826 center for Oakland, California. While doing extensive research on Oakland I fell in love with the several myths of Oakland from strange garden gnomes to moving staircases, finally landing on the mysterious myth of the Oakland Loch Ness monster. With this new knowledge 826 Oakland Monster Research Institute emerged. The store is filled with quirky finds to catch your sea monster and explore the waters, while engaging young writers to get creative. This project was also featured in 826 DC’s newsletter “Magical by Design”.
