Bob Ross → Print, Card Set
The Brief – This design was To create a set of 12 cards (two sided) using a Surrealist game that employs the literary / visual device of analogy as your method for producing visual content about a contemporary historical “Villain” or “Hero” of my choice. I decided to go with Bob Ross since i was a child i remember watching “The Joy of Painting” episodes on PBS, and wanted to learn more about his life. Throughout this project i learned about his military background and decided to incorporate his military and his joy of painting together as well as respond to a list of descriptors. I finally executed them as 5’’x 7’’ printed double sided cards. The backs of the cards were designed using a scanned scrap of swatch paper used for actual painting and these swatches were also integrated with the design in front of the cards and finally printed on canvas paper.
